A healthy lifestyle is important for everyone. It allows you to cope with things better. Building healthy habits may seem like a lot of work, but it doesn’t have to be. You only need to focus on 3H of everyday life that are the key to a healthy lifestyle. The 3H of everyday life include hygiene, hydration, and health.
Every day, you come into contact with millions of bacteria and germs. These bacteria and germs can be found everywhere and you become susceptible to them as you age. Practicing and maintaining good personal hygiene is the key to boosting your immune system, taking care of your body, and protecting yourself from diseases. Good personal hygiene practices include using antiseptic, antibacterial products to wash hands, not skipping showers, taking care of oral hygiene.
Apart from practicing personal hygiene, it is also recommended that you maintain a healthy hygiene level at home. Use disinfectant to regularly clean your home, wash clothes and bedding, clean surfaces with a detergent, and more. These practices will reduce the spread of germs in your home and give you peace of mind.
Staying hydrated is a very important part of a healthy everyday life. It is recommended to drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of water a day for men and about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) for a woman. If you are not drinking enough water every day, you may experience headaches, lower energy levels, and other problems. The good news is, it is very easy to build some good habits of drinking the proper amount of water every day. A great way to stay hydrated throughout the day is to carry a water bottle with you all the time.
Apart from good hygiene and hydration practices, following are some other key activities/habits you should incorporate into your everyday life:
Exercise is very important for your physical and mental health. Develop the habit of moving and articulating every joint in your body every day. This will help keep your joints and muscles flexible and agile. It will also diminish the likelihood of joint or muscle pain or problems. Regular exercise assures that you have greater mobility and balance.
Get a Good Sleep
Sleep is one of the most important things for our minds and bodies. As an adult, you should get about 7-9 hours of sleep every day. It obviously won’t be possible each night especially if you have a busy lifestyle but you can ensure you get a healthy sleep by making a habit of going to bed and waking up at the same time every day.
Eat the Right Foods
Develop the habit of eating the right foods at the right time. A balanced diet that contains more vegetables, fruits, and whole grain products is highly recommended. You should also develop the habit of removing “three white poisons” from your everyday diet, which are sugar, salt, and flour. This change in your diet is very powerful and the key to living a healthy life.
Maintaining a healthy everyday life doesn’t have to be a chore. Incorporating these 3H in your everyday routine is easy and if you dedicate yourself to these practices, you will find that it gets easier as more time goes on.
